Crime Victim Services stands in solidarity with the survivors of abuses committed by Jeffrey Epstein and associates. We commend the courage of the survivors, and we strongly support their requests for safety, accountability, and justice. As files and information continue to be released, we are concerned that rather than create accountability, the process has resulted in further harm to survivors and mistrust of our systems.

Transparency without accountability is not justice.

Survivors deserve:

  • To be believed, to be heard, and for their experiences to be validated.

  • Proper and adequate redactions to protect their confidential information.

  • Accountability and a full investigation into all abuses and persons associated.

  • Immediate, survivor-centered actions to mitigate further trauma by a system which should ensure protection.

When transparency is incomplete, when files are released without follow-through, and when institutions fail to demonstrate meaningful investigation, the message to survivors is clear: it is more important to protect those with power than to provide an avenue of justice and healing for survivors.

Let us remember that at the heart of this story are real people. While advocacy for these survivors should continue until justice is achieved, we are also aware of the impact this may be having to survivors in our community. Continuous exposure to this story may bring up reminders of their own past trauma.

Every year, Crime Victim Services assists more than 500 child and adult victims of sexual assault and human trafficking, right here in our own community. And beyond that number, it is estimated that for every assault reported, another 3 go unreported each year.

Day One of Crime Victim Services provides confidential, holistic healing for survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking. Our compassionate, professional advocates walk alongside survivors throughout their healing journey, providing comprehensive services in Allen, Auglaize, Putnam, and Hardin Counties. We provide a 24/7 hotline, 24/7 medical advocacy at local hospitals, crisis intervention and safety planning for survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking. Additionally, we offer ongoing support and case management services, therapy, support groups, campus advocacy, and legal advocacy in local court systems.

Statutes of limitation expire. Evidence erodes. Powerful systems protect themselves. When that happens, survivors still deserve support, healing, and community.  Survivor safety and accountability are universal issues that transcend party lines.

At Crime Victim Services, we believe you, and we’re here to help.

The article about transparency and accountability in justice made a strong point that just having open information is not enough if people are not held responsible, and it made me think about fairness in all parts of life. While I was reading it during a busy school week, I remembered a time when I felt overwhelmed and even searched for take my online pmp exam help and used support from Take My Online Exam Pro to stay calm and finish my work.
