Each year on August 17, National Nonprofit Day celebrates the tremendous value and accomplishments that charity organizations contribute across our country. Whether providing shelter for those without housing, being the clean-up and support response following a disaster, or connecting children to safe afterschool programming, community organizations all over the United States work tirelessly to ensure a brighter tomorrow for our neighbors. Millions of Americans work in the nonprofit sector, and everyday their efforts to affect positive change can be seen within this mission-driven sector.
Crime Victim Services exists to help our community thrive. We do this by supporting thousands of victims of violence and crime each year in Allen and Putnam counties so they can prevail over the trauma of their experience. Our goal is to renew their dignity and offer support through safety, healing, justice, and financial recovery. For more than 40 years, Crime Victim Services has led the way in these efforts. Today, we provide services through 10 distinct programs, each offering a specific focus for our work: prevention, advocacy and outreach.
In honor of National Nonprofit Day, consider being a champion of Crime Victim Services through one of these meaningful actions:
Partner: If you represent a business or local organization, collaborate on programs or invite a presentation to expand support and awareness.
Volunteer: From CASA training to crisis line, mentoring, or administrative support — volunteers are always needed and deeply appreciated.
Donate: Your financial contributions help sustain vital programs that support prevention, advocacy and outreach programming in our community.
Every contribution—whether time, money, or expertise—creates ripples of healing throughout our community.
